Caring for Caregivers: Our Partnership with Operation Happy Nurse

At Type, we don’t just make bags for healthcare workers — we’re here to support them, period. That’s why we’ve partnered with Operation Happy Nurse (OHN), a nonprofit that provides nurses with free mental health resources and a supportive community built for (and by) caregivers.
Last weekend, we were proud to sponsor OHN’s Fitness for the Caregivers event in Portland — a day designed to help local healthcare workers recharge, move their bodies, and feel appreciated.
What went down:
-
A high-energy circuit workout led by Olumide Onajide, a reality TV star and wellness advocate
-
A cozy happy hour where nurses could unwind, connect, and just be — no shift schedules or alarms in sight
-
Goodie bags featuring treats and gear from brands that care (hi, that’s us)
-
And most importantly: a chance for healthcare workers to feel seen and supported
Even better? The gifts didn’t stop at the door — attendees shared their goodie bags with nurse colleagues who couldn’t make it, spreading the love even further.
Why it matters
Burnout in healthcare is real. Events like this one — and organizations like OHN — offer moments of joy, movement, and connection that are too often missing in the day-to-day grind of caregiving. We're honored to help make that happen.
When you shop with Type, a portion of every purchase supports OHN’s work — because burnout relief should be built in.
