Refund policy
At Type, we want you to feel good about what you carry. We also believe in thoughtful purchases and reducing unnecessary returns, so eligible standard returns are issued as store credit rather than refunds.

These policies apply to orders shipped within the United States and Canada. Some terms differ for Canadian orders, as noted below.
U.S. Return Window
For U.S. orders, we accept eligible return requests within 14 days of delivery.
To start a return, email info@carrytype.com with your order number and the item you'd like to return. Items sent back without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.
Canada Orders
All Canada orders are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.
Because international returns are costly and difficult to process, we don't accept buyer's-remorse returns, size or color exchanges, or standard returns for Canadian orders.
If a Canadian order arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing an item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@carrytype.com so we can review the issue and make it right.
Return Eligibility (U.S. Orders)
To be eligible for return, your item must be:
• Unused and unworn
• In the same condition you received it
• Returned with tags attached
• Returned with original packaging, inserts, straps, parts, and accessories when applicable
• Free of stains, odors, pet hair, visible wear, washing, alteration, or damage
We reserve the right to refuse returns that don't meet these requirements.
Store Credit
Eligible standard returns are issued as store credit.
Store credit is issued after we receive and inspect your return. It will be issued for the amount paid for the returned item, minus the cost of the prepaid return shipping label. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Store credit does not expire.
Return Shipping
If your return is approved, we'll send you a prepaid return shipping label and instructions on where to send your package. The cost of the prepaid label will be deducted from your store credit and shared with you before you send the item back.
Once your return is approved, your package must be mailed back within 7 days. Please keep your drop-off receipt until your return is processed — it's helpful if a package is delayed before tracking updates. Type is not responsible for returns that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit.
Exchanges
For U.S. orders, the fastest way to get a different color, style, or item is to return your original item for store credit and place a new order. We can't guarantee that inventory will still be available by the time your return is received and processed.
Canadian orders are final sale and are not eligible for exchange.
Damaged, Defective, Wrong, or Missing Items
Please inspect your order when it arrives.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing something from your order, contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@carrytype.com and include:
• Your order number
• A description of the issue
• Photos of the item
• Photos of the packaging
• A photo of the shipping label, if available
When an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing something from your order, we'll make it right. After we review the issue, we'll provide a replacement, refund, or store credit, depending on the situation. When a return is needed for these cases, we'll cover the cost of return shipping.
The 7-day window above applies to issues visible on delivery, such as a wrong item, a missing item, or shipping damage. If you discover a suspected manufacturing defect after that window, contact us anyway — we'll review it case by case within a reasonable time.
Refunds
When a refund applies (for example, a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, or an approved cancellation), we issue it to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Depending on your bank, it may take a few additional days to appear on your statement.
Final Sale Items
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing something from the order:
• Gift cards
• Canadian orders
• Items clearly marked final sale
• Customized or personalized items
• Opened or used personal-care or self-care products
• Hygiene-sensitive products once opened
Sale, Discounted, or Bundle Orders
If an item purchased with a discount, promotion, or bundle offer is eligible for return, store credit will be based on the amount actually paid for that item, not the original full retail price.
If returning part of a bundle changes the original bundle eligibility, the store credit amount may be adjusted to reflect the final value of the items kept.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, email info@carrytype.com as soon as possible.
We can only cancel an order if it hasn't yet been processed, packed, or had a shipping label created. Once an order has been processed, packed, or shipped, we can't guarantee cancellation — but you may still be eligible to return the item after delivery under this policy.
Packages Marked Delivered
If your package is marked delivered but you can't find it, please check with household members, neighbors, your building, mailroom, front desk, or local USPS office. It's also worth waiting 24–48 hours, as carriers occasionally mark packages early.
Type is not responsible for packages marked delivered to the correct address. That said, we know this is frustrating, and we'll review these situations case by case and help where we can, including assisting with a carrier claim where possible.
