One of the clearest things we believe at Type is that caring for healthcare workers is important.
It should happen after the crisis headline fades, when people are still showing up to work, still exhausted, and that's why we are honored to support Debriefing the Front Lines and Rekindled Nurse during their Asheville outreach initiative.
This month, their team headed to Asheville, North Carolina to support hundreds of healthcare workers through a community give-back effort that included peer support, meals, and gift bags of gratitude. When they reached out about including Type bags as part of the volunteer team uniform, it felt like an easy yes.
To be transparent, we donated 26 items total: 13 Sunset Type bags and 13 caps (MSRP ~$1,000)

Why this felt aligned
Type is a small brand. We cannot say yes to every request, even when we wish we could. But this one made sense immediately.
Debriefing the Front Lines works in the space Type cares about deeply: supporting the emotional, human side of healthcare work. Their outreach was not about turning nurses into symbols. It was about showing up for them as people and that matters to us here.
We want to always be careful about how we talk about partnerships. The goal is not to make ourselves look generous and trust us, we know a product donation is not the whole solution but if we can make the organization's work easier, help them get more volunteers, and have a better time giving back then we're all for it.
Thank you to Tara, Courtney, Rekindled Nurse, and Debriefing the Front Lines for including Type in this outreach. We are grateful for the work you are doing to care for healthcare workers not just as professionals, but as people.
And to the healthcare workers who received support through the initiative: we hope you felt seen, appreciated, and cared for in a way that went beyond a slogan.
Until next time :)
